2008 Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials!!

About the Dog Sponsorship Program: 

•  We’re selling 124 advertising dog sponsorships for the 2008 Meeker Classic.  Each of 124 dogs in the preliminary rounds will get a sponsor (Wednesday September 3^rd – Friday September 5^th). 

•  Dog Sponsors will be randomly assigned a dog after the running order is established, August 1^st, 2008.

• Cost:     $100/dog, Limit 2 dogs per sponsor

How to  Purchase a 2008 Dog Sponsorship:

1. Complete the 2008 Meeker Classic Dog Sponsorship Registration Form.  Remember that there are only 124 dogs, and sponsorships will be on a first come first serve basis.
    
2. Mail your registration form with a $100 check (per dog) payable to “Meeker Classic”, Attn:  Ellen Nieslanik. PO Box 1394, Meeker, Colorado, 81641.
    
3. You will receive a confirmation and receipt by mail.
    
4. Once Sponsorships Funds are received your name and/or business will be listed on our website.

FAQ’s 2008 Meeker Classic Dog Sponsorship Program:

1. Where can I register for the Meeker Classic Dog Sponsorship Program?  Registration forms are available on our website www.meekersheepdog.com, or can be obtained by calling Ellen Nieslanik, 970-878-0080.  Dog Sponsorships are limited to 124 dogs and will be sold on a first come, first serve basis.

2. Is my sponsorship tax deductible?  The Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials is designated a 501(c) (5) – Not for Profit, Agricultural Trade Organization.  Your contribution of $100 is deductible, but ONLY as an ordinary business (advertising) expense as provided by law in the Internal Revenue Service Code.  As a 2008 Dog Sponsor you will receive a Donation Voucher for your 2008 tax filing.

3. When am I assigned a dog?  The running order will be “drawn” on August 1^st, 2008 for  124 dogs running in the preliminary runs.  Once the running order is established, sponsors will be randomly assigned a dog.  Your name will appear in the running order posted on our website shortly after August 1^st, 2008, and will also appear in the printed running order in our 2008 Meeker Classic Souvenir Trial Program.

4. What happens if my dog scratches?  If your dog scratches before September 1^st we will fill it’s spot in the running order by utilizing a “standby list” of dogs waiting to get entered at the Meeker Classic.  An amended running order will be announced each day at the trial.  If by chance we have a last minute scratch due to injury or some unforeseen circumstance, your name will be announced, you’ll receive the sponsorship packet, but obviously we wouldn’t be able to provide a photograph.

5. How will I know “when” my sponsored dog will run?  During preliminary runs we will run only 42 dogs per day.   Even in the event of a scratched dog, we will stop with dog #42 on the first day, etc.

• Dogs #1 – 42 will run Wednesday, September 3, 2008

• Dogs #43 – 84 will run Thursday, September 4, 2008

• Dogs #85 – 124 will run Friday, September 5, 2008

6.   How can I track my dog’s performance if I’m unable to attend the trial?  Results are posted on our website every few hours.  Follow your dog and trial results at www.meekersheepdog.com

 7.  How will the Photos work?    As part of your Dog Sponsorship Benefit Package you will receive    a 5”x7” photo of your sponsored dog, it’s handler & you (if available) in a  custom mat reading             ”Meeker Classic Dog Sponsor 2008” .

• Sponsors need to be “available” for a photo immediately following their sponsored dog’s preliminary run.  Meet at the sheep wagon.
• If the sponsor is NOT available, a photo of the handler & dog will be taken/  Please note that no provisions will be made for “missed photo ops”.  It’s too difficult for the handler/dog and logistically for the photographer.
• Photos will be mailed after the Classic, and sponsors will be able to order more/larger photos from the photographer – at their own expense.

8.   When will I receive my Sponsorship Packet?   Packets will be mailed out after 2008 Meeker Classic Souvenir Trial Programs are printed, and before the trial starts (approximately August 25th).  Packets will notify the sponsor of their dog and include all items listed in the Dog Sponsorship Benefit Package.
